I’m Mary Ember (the creative English translation for Marije Veenstra) and I blend the authentic sound of Americana with the vibrant energy of pop. Inspired by the emotion of Taylor Swift and the urgency of Sam Fender, I create sharp songs with a touch of perspective and a rebellious undertone.
As for the creative process: I play piano, guitar, and sing. After the EP I will record an album and in the meantime, I focus on producing my own music as well. You can find me on open mics, showcases and (living-room)concerts and you can find me on the streaming platforms.
Besides music, I work in the field of international biodiversity policy. When I’m not engaged in that or making music, you find me at the beach, working out, journaling or reading /listening to non-fiction.
